Styria’s diversity and countless opportunities and possibilities make it a great place to live, as plenty of workers and specialists have already found out. They have all made Steiermark their new home.

The Talentsproject takes a closer look at the paths that led individuals to Steiermark. In interviews they talk about their (new) life and reasons for wanting to start afresh here. They all have one thing in common: Steiermark, a warm and at the same time innovative region in the heart of Europe, has won them over with its many advantages.

PILOT PROJECT WITH YOUNG PEOPLE FROM SPAIN

The south of Europe – especially Spain – is facing high youth unemployment. Due to the lack of education and training opportunities, more and more young people are making the move abroad. The dual training system in our province is particularly appealing to them and, combined with the unique landscapes and wide range of leisure activities, Steiermark is becoming a popular place for young people from Spain to relocate to.

A series of films accompanies apprentices who have come to Steiermark through the specially initiated Talentsproject and have been living here for some time. They give a full report of their experiences: from the work to the culture and people in Steiermark. The protagonist is Miguel who has been living here for three years and is completing a metallurgy apprenticeship at Böhler-Kapfenberg.

The videos are aimed specifically at young Spaniards and their parents, who are often the most important contact when it comes to making big decisions. They are designed to bring across the advantages of Steiermark in an authentic way.
